Start and end strong with this

I began the year by talking about the beginning of your presentations. So far, I've shared some tips on presentation starters and what to do before you start. Click the links if you missed those, or if you need a refresher. While you may be all intro'd out, there is one more piece of advice I absolutely had to share. I promise you, it's a game changer. And, it's actually really easy:

Practice your introduction.

That's it.

By know you know the importance of your intro. You understand the value of first impressions. And no doubt you want to start with a bang.

So practice.

In the mirror, in the shower, in the car.

Just practice.

Your words, your voice, your body language.

With your tech, your slides, your heels or suit jacket.

I even suggest you memorise at least the first few lines (if not more) of your introduction.

This is especially helpful for the majority of us who are naturally nervous at the beginning. Not only will you remember your lines, you'll also feel good knowing you're rockin' it. That instant boost of confidence will help you fly through the rest of your talk.

By the way, I only ever suggest memorising for the start and end of your presentation.

Because the end is also incredibly important.

So practice that too, for your very own mic drop moment.
