If you can't get over it, get PAST it.

Like so many people, I hate being on camera, especially when I have to share that video for others to see! It's not easy for me.

And virtual presentations are in many ways similar to posting videos. Somehow, it's just different when a camera gets involved - the inner critic rears its ugly head. There’s a similar sort of self-consciousness that can hold people back.

Commenting on how nerve wracking it can be, someone recently asked me:

"How did you get over it? How did you get to the point where you felt confident and comfortable posting videos of yourself?"

Watch this video to hear my response, some good news and my advice.

60 Seconds with Soapbox: Episode 6

Bottom line: Forget about how you (think you) look and sound. Instead, use your energy to design, prepare and deliver an amazing presentation.

What you say and how you say it - THAT's what people are going to remember - or not. So put the effort into creating a positive and impactful experience - whether you're on the air for 1 minute or 1 hour.

I'm here to help!

And if you’ve got questions about your own presentation – just ask! I’ll respond directly or in a future post.
