Get to the point

In presentations, short and simple goes a long way. This is especially so for virtual as you compete against countless distractions.

But it’s not easy to keep things brief!

In this video, I share a trick I use to help me sift through my ideas and get straight to the point.

60 Seconds with Soapbox: Episode 5

In my last post, I told you that you should practice with a stopwatch to help you nail your timing. And now you know, it can also help you with your script. Yeah, that's right! A stopwatch can actually help you figure out what to say. Or rather, what NOT to say. Try it. As you watch the seconds fly by, you feel pretty compelled to cut the fluff from your presentation. You kinda' have no choice but to keep it short and simple (KISS). You can't argue with time. And KISS is something that every speaker should strive for. Because if you get to the point, you're more likely to get through to your audience. So actually, I'll go so far as to say this: A stopwatch can help you deliver a more engaging and impactful presentation. BOOM! Not bad for a dinky little feature on your cellphone!
